Julie Fison is a mother of two boys, travel writer and an author of books for children and young adults. She has written a series of adventures stories for young readers, called Hazard River that are fast-paced and fun with an environmental twist. Her books were inspired by a family holiday on the Noosa River.
Noosa is also the setting for Tall, Dark and Distant, the first of her books for young adults. Her new titles are set in Asia. Sienna goes looking for her lost brother in Cambodia in Lust and Found and Hong Kong TV reporter, Lucy Yang gets more than she bargained for when she is handed a strange parcel in Counterfeit Love.
Before having children Julie worked as a television reporter in Australia, then Asia and Europe. She has shaken hands with an orang-utan in Borneo, camped with cranky elephants in Africa and travelled the Mekong River on a barge, with only rat soup for sustenance. Now, she wrestles with homework problems, arbitrates on gaming disputes and spends the rest of the time writing.
